Lead a Black Travel Club chapter

Now recruiting · Cities nationwide

Your city.
Your people.
Your next chapter.

We’re looking for thoughtful connectors who want to bring Black travelers together. Start a local chapter, share the lead or help host the moments that turn a group into a community.

01 · Bring people together

A welcoming presence

You listen, follow through and make room for people who are new to the group.

02 · Build with others

A team, not a solo act

You can coordinate a co-lead, event hosts and a backup. You do not have to be a travel agent.

03 · Stay connected

Clear communication

You can plan ahead, share updates and work within BTC’s shared event and community standards.

What happens after you apply?

  1. Application review. We consider your city, interests, experience and availability.
  2. A conversation. We discuss what your chapter could look like and the support it needs.
  3. A clear role. Scope, expectations and any compensation terms must be agreed before accepting a role.
  4. Onboarding and a first gathering. The approved team receives its next steps and prepares an event plan with a host and backup.

A foundation for local leadership

Bring your local knowledge.
Build with a shared framework.

A clear role

Agree your responsibilities, realistic time commitment, support and any compensation terms before accepting a role.

A practical first-event plan

Work through the venue, RSVP path, costs, accessibility, host and backup before announcing a gathering.

People to turn to

Agree a founding-team contact and check-in rhythm during onboarding. Travel quotes and booking arrangements stay with Team Vacay.

A proposed first 90 days

Start small.
Build a chapter that lasts.

  1. Days 1–30: get the team ready. Complete onboarding, agree your co-lead or backup and prepare a realistic first gathering.
  2. Days 31–60: bring people together. Run an approved local gathering with a named host, a different backup and a clear attendee contact.
  3. Days 61–90: listen and improve. Gather feedback, review what worked and prepare the next event with your local team.

Timing is agreed with each approved team during onboarding.

Before you apply

No chapter in your city?

Apply anyway. We’re recruiting nationwide and want to hear where you would like to build.

Do you need to be a travel agent?

No. Community leadership and local hosting are different from selling or arranging travel. Booking work goes through Team Vacay.

Will a founder be at every event?

No. An approved local host and backup can run a gathering. Founder attendance is announced only when confirmed.

Shared founding oversight

Two founders.
One clear approval path.

Antonio “Tone” Barnes and Demetrius Walker must both approve leader selection, chapter launch and the first event. Each records a separate decision against the version reviewed. Material changes require fresh approvals for the affected stage.

After the first event, approved local teams can manage routine gatherings within BTC’s agreed standards. Founder attendance is optional and must be confirmed before it is announced.
