Since travel restrictions to Cuba have eased in recent years, tons of people have been visiting this majestic island. Here's an opportunity to do it the right way! The Black Travel Club, in conjunction with AfroLatino Travel, has curated an itinerary that specifically highlights the African influence on Cuba's identity. Experience full cultural immersion as we enjoy 4 days / 3 nights in traditional Cuban accommodations, touring sites in Havana and Varadero. 

This exclusive Black Travel Club custom package  includes the following services:

ITINERARY

DAY  1 – Friday,  January 18th   

Arrival: House check-­‐in,  money exchange etc. –

Lunch  included

2:00pm – 4:30pm: Light  lunch in Old Havana/ stop at El Floridita

5:00pm-­‐6:00pm: Vintage Car Ride

Night suggestion:  Dinner at La Giradilla,* optional dancing at 1830   

 

DAY 2 – Saturday, January 19th

Pick-­‐up at 9:30am Breakfast  and Lunch included

8:30am – 9:30am Breakfast in casa

10:00am –  10:45am: Yoruba Museum to learn of the Yoruba Orishas of the AfroCuban  spirituality

11:10am-­‐ 12:00pm Callejon de Hamel to view the outdoor AfroCuban artwork of Salvador Gonzalez

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Tambor Presentation – Drum and  dance presentation of the Orishas

2:00pm -­‐ 3:30pm: Lunch at secret paladar*

4:15pm  -­‐ 4:45pm: Optional donation distribution in El Cerro neighborhood Drop-­‐off at 6pm

Suggested  Night Activity: Buena Vista Social Club ($50 pp) or stroll around Havana Vieja

 

DAY 3 – Sunday,  January 20th Varadero Beach Day

Varadero is located 2.5 hours from Havana and this day only allows for evening activities in Havana. Varadero Day Tour Highlights include:

  • Stop  at highest bridge in Cuba  
  • Local  English-­‐speaking  guide
  • Day  at one  of the top  10 beaches in  the world

Suggested  Night Activity:  Dinner at Café Laurent & Fabrica de Arte

 

DAY  4, Monday,  January 21st  -­ Departure

Suggested night time activities  are recommendations and are not included  in tour itinerary or cost. Dinner as well as night activities and transportation from said  activities is the responsibility of tour participant. Tour ends at designated time on the itinerary. We provide  airport transfer and transportation and entrance fees to all listed tour activities. Transportation may be modern car or vintage car. Participants  agree to be prompt for pick-­‐up as this is important to the itinerary. Order of activity hours is subject to change based on efficiency. Airfare to Havana is not included and is the responsibility of each traveler. 

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

  1. Deposit Due by October 15, 2018: Double Occupancy = $500 (Early Bird, before Oct 1st, $550 after); Single Occupancy = $600 (Early Bird, $660 after Oct 1st)
  2. Second Payment Due by November 15, 2018: $500
  3. Final Payment Due by December 15, 2018: $500

Total Travel Investment: $1,500 per person (based on double occupancy); $1,800 for single occupancy

Once you check out and pay the initial deposit, we'll send you an invoice for the next payments on the 15th of the month before they're due and you'll be responsible for paying them by the due date.  Since we have to book activities in advance, all payments are non-refundable, whether you show up or not.  If you are more than 5 days late on a payment, your reservation may be cancelled and you will receive a refund only if we are able to find someone else to take your place.
